If you want to obtain a professional license and prepare yourself for your carrer, then a medical language course and preparation for the Fachsprachenprüfung (FSP) should be your first priority.
In the medical language course, you will acquire general and specialized German language skills. This includes oral and written comprehension (e.g. reading and reacting to findings, doctors' letters and reports). You will be prepared for the communicative requirements of your profession so that you can communicate successfully and effortlessly with patients, relatives, colleagues and superiors in your everyday work. For example, you will practice taking medical histories and exchanging professional information. You will also learn how to compose written texts (e.g. doctor's letters).
In addition to acquiring general and specialized German language skills, you will also be prepared for the language examination (FSP) in this course.
The lessons are characterized by a variety of methods and are action- and participant-oriented.
Contents:
Linguistic competence: reading comprehension, listening comprehension, structured as well as situation-adapted oral and written production of longer texts, expansion of vocabulary and grammar skills.
Professional linguistic competence: doctor-patient/relative conversations, informative conversations, delivery of bad news, professional conversations between doctor and doctor as well as doctor and nursing staff, anamnesis as well as documentation of physical examinations, presentation of patients, composing written texts: Physician's letter, findings, council, etc.
Preparation for professional language exam (FSP): targeted exam preparation with simulations
Duration of the course: 6 weeks
Length: 125 lessons (20-25 per week)
